EMPLOYEES OFTEN SAY the reason they want to work at Wakefield College is that they know someone who does and loves it. To be a better place to work is a strategic priority and one that is being met, according to our staff survey results. Being employed at Wakefield is good for people's own growth (this question scoring 74% positive, the fourth highest out of 50 on the mid-sized list), and ranking the college's overall Personal Growth factor ninth among the top 75 organisations. Work is stimulating (73%), Wakefield makes a positive difference (70%), and the job is an important part of who staff are (75%). The college, which employs 695 people at its three sites and has provided education and training since 1868, enables its 10,000 part-time and 3,000 full-time students reach their potential by helping staff achieve theirs. It gets the sixth highest score for employees thinking that chances to learn and grow are not limited (56%) and the training is of great benefit (66%, a top 10 score).
