Join us as our host, Dan Walker, introduces the day’s agenda before kicking off May's Best Companies Live event with one of the current pressing topics: responding to a global crisis.
When a global crisis such as the Ukrainian war breaks out, how have organisations lead the way in showing that they care? We’ll look at how the situation in Ukraine has prompted many to act and ask what might be considered the best way to support the crisis moving forward. We’ll also look at the impact that decisive action can have on employee engagement.
Secondly, we’ll be discussing the current cost of living crisis and in particular the increase in energy and fuel costs. We’ll look at what organisations can do to lessen the impact on their employees’ lives and how to help them manage their financial health.

How important to engaging employees is knowing that what they do each day makes a difference to the word we live in?
We will speak to leaders whose organisations exist for a purpose beyond that of simply making money. We’ll ask what it takes to bring a primary purpose to life – and what it takes to get everyone to truly live the organisations values and principles – and the impact this has on the way employees think and feel about their work.

In this session, Dan will speak with panellists to understand the approaches they’ve taken to look after their employees at all levels and how the measures taken have been received by their people and impacted on engagement.
With where, and how, we work the key point of discussion for organisations up and down the country, just how do you strike a balance that works for your people as well as the business?
In this session, we’ll ask how company culture can survive with the increase in remote, hybrid or ‘anywhere’ working policies. We’ll discuss the benefits and challenges of having different working setups for different individuals within an organisation, and how employers can ensure their employees feel fairly treated without the existence of a ‘one size fits all’ strategy.
