The Manufacturing Technology Centre is a trailblazer in innovative manufacturing solutions, dedicated to bridging the gap between university-based research and practical applications. Founded in 2011 by the University of Birmingham, Loughborough University, the University of Nottingham, and TWI Ltd, The Manufacturing Technology Centre is a part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, supported by Innovate UK. From a humble beginning with just 44 employees, it has grown exponentially to around 800 dedicated staff across its main campus at Ansty Park, Coventry, and its new offices in Liverpool.
The Manufacturing Technology Centre values its employees deeply and this is mirrored in its excellent salary and benefits package, flexible working conditions, and a sterling pension scheme. Teamwork, responsibility, inspiration, humanity, and integrity are the shared values that underpin its operations. The Manufacturing Technology Centre also recognises and rewards its high-performing teams through the 'Celebrate Success - Team Building initiative', fostering a culture of recognition and camaraderie.
The Manufacturing Technology Centre continues to champion gender equality, having substantially reduced its gender pay gap. It has formalised a fully flexible working policy, enhancing work/life balance and overall wellbeing. This flexible approach has been particularly appreciated by parents and guardians supporting childcare arrangements.
The Manufacturing Technology Centre's commitment to inspiring British manufacturing on a global stage is unwavering. Through its advanced facilities, including the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre and the National Centre for Additive Manufacturing, The Manufacturing Technology Centre is not only fuelling innovation but also shaping the future of British industry.
