Softwire is a distinguished digital design, delivery, and support agency founded in 2000 by Pete Kenny, Phil Marsden, and Dan Shavick.

Boasting a skilled team of professionals, Softwire ensures that its employees are provided with an environment that nurtures growth and promotes wellbeing. Through initiatives such as SmartHealth, employees, their partners, and their children have 24/7 access to a virtual GP and various health and wellbeing experts. They also benefit from on-site gym facilities and weekly yoga lessons. Alongside this, Softwire runs mediation sessions once a week and offers the Headspace Plus app to all employees to help them with their own mindfulness practice.

Softwire promotes mental health awareness with initiatives like the disability/mental health spotlight, aiming to reduce stigma and foster an inclusive work environment.

The company also ensures transparency and trust through fortnightly Managing Director Q&As and monthly company status emails. Its core values, 'kindness', 'trust and trustworthiness', 'fun', and 'caring about what we do' are celebrated with the Softwire Awards, where employees exemplifying these values are recognised.

Additionally, Softwire is committed to the personal and professional growth of its employees, providing specific Line Manager Training and a Career Mentoring scheme.

The company also supports numerous charities and facilitates employee involvement in community work through its Charity Holiday scheme. With its emphasis on employee wellbeing, professional growth, and community engagement, Softwire continues to be one of the UK's top places to work.

Softwire provides permanent health insurance which pays 75% of an employee’s salary (less state benefits) until normal retirement age in the event that they are unable to work for a prolonged period due to most forms of sickness or accident. All employees are automatically covered for this benefit without having to explicitly sign up.

93% of staff agreed

I am paid fairly for the work that I do relative to others within this organisation

My Manager

99% of staff agreed

I feel that my manager talks openly and honestly with me

Softwire provides specific Line Manager Training to all employees who are starting in a management role. Quote from the top...
We believe that work should be a positive and worthwhile experience. A big part of that is trust – we work hard to make Softwire a high trust environment where there is mutual trust between Softwire, its employees and clients. Employee engagement is crucial for creating that environment and it’s something in which we invest a lot of time, effort, and energy.

Andrew Thomas, Managing Director - Softwire
