Pennington Choices property surveying and consultancy business has come a long way since being founded in 2000 by Mark Seaborn, the Managing Director, in an office above a vets' surgery. The Cheshire-headquartered company offers its services nationwide and roles are varied in the multidisciplinary workforce of over 100 employees, who are based either in the field or at the (home) office.
Together, staff help over 250 businesses across social housing, retail, healthcare, transport and education with a range of property compliance services. A work-hard-play-hard culture prevails, with the internal social committee working hard to keep employees connected through events such as virtual escape rooms, barbecues, sports days and hiking, as well as Halloween parties and Christmas activities.
Giving something back to the community also lies close to the organisation’s heart, with employees participating in a number of charitable initiatives. 2021 saw colleagues get active thanks to ‘Move for Movember’, a challenge in aid of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention in Men, as well as raising £4,336 for Warrington Disability by completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge.
In November 2021 the organisation showed its support for National Career Development month, designed to inspire employers to empower their staff to achieve their career goals. This goes hand in hand with Pennington Choices’ understanding that it is its employees that are the essence of what makes the organisation great – and so it invests in their careers through a talent management programme, a salary and aspirations project, and a “no boundaries” internal promotions system.
