Ontic is a leading global aerospace original equipment manufacturer (OEM), providing complex engineered parts and repair services for established aircraft in the defence and commercial market.
Boasting a portfolio of 7,500+ top-level assemblies, Ontic is proud to work with customers around the globe. Its team of experts deliver a wide variety of critical technologies, including fuel measurement systems, as well as a range of avionics, cockpit instruments, and controls.
With over 45 years of product manufacturing and aftermarket support experience, Ontic has operations across North America, the UK, Europe, and Asia providing strategic worldwide support to civil and defence customers when and where it is needed. Whether a customer, partner, member of the community, or each other, the company’s promise remains the same - it embraces the challenge to start where others stop.
The organisation is always learning and growing and it will never stop challenging the status quo. Ontic stress the importance of its teams’ freedom to think, experiment, and innovate to make work happen.
Although the company has grown significantly over the last few years, it prides itself on close-knit ‘family’ culture. One of its values is to share common sense – with filters throughout the entire business practice.
Ontic has an open and transparent culture and a sense that everyone is playing their part – and by extension - everyone shares in the company’s success through its profit-sharing scheme for all employees.
I am happy with the balance between my work and home life
Ontic is committed to creating an open and supportive culture. It wants employees to feel comfortable speaking about how menopause-related symptoms may be affecting them at work and be able to ask for the support that they need to help manage their symptoms. Managers have been provided support to help them have conversations about menopause.
I feel that my manager talks openly and honestly with me
Ontic has a dedicated People Managers' Communication channel - a monthly, action-driven communication platform with clear expectations of what managers are expected to read/understand and share/do with their teams. This is backed up by a dedicated Managers Hub which provides managers with all the information they need to do their job effectively.
I feel I receive fair pay for the responsibilities I have in my job
The company continues to see considerable growth in the business through acquisitions. However, this means that it has inherited a lack of female representation at all levels. To tackle this, Ontic employed 30 new starters, of which 17 were female, and it has seen increased numbers of women joining its Early Careers Programme.
