On Blue Monday, staff at Kingdom Group are given an hour of the working day to do something to boost their wellbeing. Many post photos on the intranet and useful links are highlighted to support colleagues with their mental health.
Kingdom, the largest developing housing association in Fife, launched a groundbreaking project to tackle the vicious circle of homelessness and unemployment in 2019. Other associations have since adopted the model. The Naumann Initiative gives homeless people a job, a home and support with complex needs or barriers to sustaining their tenancy. The project continues to grow at Kingdom.
The association, which was formed in 1979, has evolved to meet the growing needs for affordable housing. In keeping with its mission of providing more than a home, Kingdom supplies a variety of enhanced services to tenants and delivers community initiative projects.
It cares about the planet, too. The association's new-build affordable-housing programme delivers high-quality low-carbon homes that are designed to high energy-efficiency standards. They are good for the environment and good for tenants — energy demand and costs are reduced, helping to tackle fuel poverty.
Kingdom Housing Association is the parent company of the Kingdom Group, which has two subsidiary organisations. Kingdom Initiatives is a non-charitable subsidiary providing mid-market rented housing. Kingdom Support and Care is a community-interest company that offers a full range of care and support services to help people to live independently in the community.
