Home Instead entered the home care market 24 years ago with one office in Chester and a new model of elderly care: a non-medical, companionship-based, in-house service that looks after the emotional and physical needs of the elderly in their own homes.
It allows the client and their family to remain firmly in charge of what is best for them, with the reassurance of trained professional support to hand.
Bespoke caring services delivered to 17,000 clients by 12,000 carers cover housekeeping; personal care; dementia care including Alzheimer's; and live-in care. Home Instead is the UK's No 1 provider in its field, with a franchise of 224 offices nationwide, and was shortlisted in seven categories at the Home Care Awards 2021.
Staff who deliver quality-of-life home care need looking after in turn, and the business has not let them down. It campaigned nationally to ensure NHS staff and carers got dedicated time for food shopping in the supermarkets during the pandemic.
One of Home Instead's core values is to treat each other with dignity and respect. That applies to everyone in the Home Instead family. Its Equality, Diversity and Equal Opportunities Policy is one of the important policies everyone signs up to on joining Home Instead, and directors have a responsibility to ensure it lives by these values, communicates them and creates a diverse and inclusive workplace.
