TEAM-BUILDING GOT off to a flying start when 57 staff from this travel agency went to Dubai for their annual conference in October. The Flight Centre (UK) retail team leaders stayed in the five-star Atlantis hotel as part of their destination training. Employees, who enjoy quarterly “buzz nights”, say they have fun together (85% positive) and help one another (83%). The New Malden-based firm also encourages its people to take up new challenges within diverse areas of the business including luxury travel, gap years, travel for music festivals, film productions and sports events. With an average salary of £34,000 a year, staff said they are paid fairly by sector standards. The firm, which travels six places up the list this year, is part of one of the world's largest independent travel retailers, and also offers opportunities to work in one of its offices overseas. www.flightcentre.co.uk
