Dove House Hospice is a charity providing care for people in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire, with life limiting illnesses. Their vision is that within 10 years, everyone with a progressive, life-limiting, illness in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire is aware of and able to access hospice care at Dove House Hospice and that their hospice care will extend outside of their buildings and into the community. To reach this target, a set of four core principles have been introduced for each and every employee to follow daily. The core principles in question are: United; Passionate; Positive; and Professional. The hospice 'Magic Moments' award provides a way for anyone to record something they see or experience which goes above and beyond what is required, or that shows care, forethought or special kindness to either a patient, volunteer or staff member. They believe magic moments happen every day in the organisation and they encourage everyone to take the time to nominate those special acts of kindness for an award.
