The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) is a chartered professional development body that's committed to supporting, developing, and enabling professionals and organisation to succeed in the sport and physical activity sector.
As well as helping professionals and organisations to succeed, CIMSPA helps its employees to succeed through a number of ways in which it supports and promotes employee growth and development.
The organisation runs its Future Leaders Program where is has supported nearly 30 team members to study their CMI Level 5 qualification and provided wrap around support with study time, one-to-one coaching, and group mentoring.
Furthermore, CIMSPA regularly encourages its employees to learn new skills and supports them in this. For example, several team members have achieved a recognised project management qualifications, others have also taken the opportunity to sit on Boards and Committees of other organisations, with the encouragement of CIMSPA’s senior leadership team, allowing these individuals to grow, learn, and develop new skills in a different environment.
Managers at CIMSPA are also supported in the development of their managerial skills through individualised Personal Development Plans. The organisation offers internal management training courses that include subjects such as change management and mediation training. CIMSPA believes in supporting it managers to be the best that they can be.
Available to all employees is the CIMSPA knowledge library where the organisation shares development books and actively encourages individuals to diarise some development time into their schedules.

CIMSPA’s wellbeing committee (Welbots) supports employees with signposting, awareness activities, and creating the opportunity for social interaction. Employees have access to a range of benefits including a healthy living allowance, access to the CALM app for themselves and up to 5 family/friends, an employee assistance program, and initiatives to get them out at lunchtime.
