Founded in 1986, Charles Tyrwhitt, still owned by founder Nicholas Charles Tyrwhitt Wheeler, is a menswear retailer based in the UK, US, and France, with the purpose of "Making it easy to dress well".
Senior managers are the embodiment of Charles Tyrwhitt's four core values: ‘Be the Boss', by taking ownership of their work, ‘Be the Best', through continual personal development and attention to wellbeing, ‘Be the Customer', by thinking like them and ‘Be the Change' by engaging with and taking the initiative within the wider community.
Charles Tyrwhitt’s new recruits are talked through how they fit into the business, and why they are important during induction. The organisation is a strong believer in employee development and has recently launched a new learning platform for staff to improve their personal and professional growth.
Always looking to drive responsible innovation, the company takes its environmental operations seriously, with recent initiatives including measuring and reducing their carbon emissions through a partnership with Planet Mark, reducing packaging, making its sales brochure fully recyclable, incorporating recycled fibres into its range, and encouraging the reuse of its products instead of disposal.
To further reinforce this philosophy, customers are offered £5 off a new shirt if they return an old shirt for recycling or for a charitable donation.

Charles Tyrwhitt has implemented many sustainable measures to reduce its environmental impact, such as eco lightbulbs, making its brochures fully recyclable, and has offset its remaining emissions, making the business carbon neutral for the first time. It has also incorporated a "Plastic action group" who have reduced the amount of plastic used in its packaging.
The experience I gain from this job is valuable for my future
Charles Tyrwhitt recognises the importance of development to its colleagues and has recently launched a new learning platform to give colleagues easy access to self-service learning and development material. To raise colleagues self-awareness it has taken the entire workforce through their individual "Insights" profiles, which will support their working relationships with each other.
I am happy with the balance between my work and home life
Devoted to supporting the mental and physical wellbeing of its colleagues, Charles Tyrwhitt has a number of trained Mental Health First Aiders who are on hand to help and direct colleagues who find themselves in a difficult time. Providing personal support and multiple resources online means that everyone has access to the help they need.
