When it was faced with providing upgraded Covid safe uniforms and equipment for more than 200 key workers at the beginning of the pandemic, private home care company, Bright Care, supported small businesses and also worked with a local producer to create its own brand hand sanitiser which was given out to all care staff and clients.
Inspired by their own experience of trying to find care for an elderly family member, Tim and Louise Cocking founded Bright Care in 2009 to help people to get the right support to enable their loved ones to stay in their own home in older age. The company, which has already supported more than 700 families has expanded from one office in Edinburgh to eight branches across the UK from Perthshire to Surrey and prides itself on being an active part of local communities.
In September, the Glasgow team raised £600 for Alzheimer Scotland by taking part in a Memory Walk and every year they collect food donations for the Glasgow South West Food Bank. The Bridge of Allan office also took part in a local toy appeal, collectively donating more than 50 gifts. A Here to Help service was set up where anyone could submit Covid-related queries and weekly calls were made to carers to ensure they felt safe and secure in their work.
