Lingerie, swimwear and clothing retailer Bravissimo prides itself on providing plenty of support to staff as well as shoppers and ensured they remained boosted throughout the pandemic. During lockdown chief executive, Leanne Cahill, and the senior leadership team pitched in processing orders at its Warwickshire warehouse and answering customer calls to help employees cope with the massively increased work volume they were experiencing as customers moved online.
Founded in 1995 to empower big-boobed women to find their feel-good fit and feel confident and uplifted, the Leamington Spa-based private business has more than a million customers around the world and employs 700 people across 26 shops in the UK and its website.
Bosses have always taken an all-hands on deck approach from taking turns to make the tea to spending time with customers on a regular basis and generally helping out frontline colleagues during busy periods. As staff returned from furlough, Cahill hosted zoom calls with staff sharing her personal thoughts and experiences to help others build resilience and maintain strong mental and physical health as the lockdowns continue as well as plans for recovery and growth following the pandemic.
Bravissimo, which also has a store in the US, has launched Employee Voice, an initiative to find out what it's really like to work at Bravissimo and what staff feel needs to be changed or improved.
Employees have continued to support local good causes as well as the firm's national charity CoppaFeel! which focuses on promoting early detection of breast cancer.

My organisation encourages charitable activities
Over the last year Bravissimo's warehouse has recycled 72 tonnes of bailed cardboard, 17.3 tonnes of polythene, and 16.4 tonnes of tissue paper. The Product team have donated leftover textiles in an initiative that has meant local schools have been able to use the materials for Art lessons.
