A "last one standing" plank challenge, in which staff across the company, including leaders, took part, was one of the fun events in Blackhawk Network's wellbeing campaign.
The company, which is based in Hertfordshire, sells gift cards and rewards. It ran a programme of events to promote physical and mental health among its employees as part of the campaign, with others including static bike races and puppy therapy sessions.
Blackhawk’s commerce business began back in 2001, with an ambition to become the world's biggest seller of gift cards. It built relationships with some of the largest high-street brands. Since 2007, it has expanded and now sells gift cards to 300,000 shops in 26 countries.
The company began to build original content by creating interest-themed cards, after it recognised that consumers wanted choice. It developed a catalogue of themed cards, spanning dining out, leisure, fashion and home. The cards represent every day, much-loved household brands.
Continued product innovation, paired with acquisitions, has allowed the company to increase its presence in more than 40,000 stores, in 13 European countries.
The Incentives business in Europe started to take shape in 2017, when Blackhawk acquired Grassroots, a well-established UK brand. Today the company serves a diverse range of customers, from large global enterprises to small and medium-sized businesses.
