At Barbon Insurance Group Ltd it is a certainty that its people are its biggest strength and they are its biggest differentiator in the market.
The financial services organisation that supports tenant referencing and provides specialist lettings insurance has almost 500 people in its employ, however the Senior Leadership Team has developed a culture that ensures that everyone is treated as an individual and receives the help they need.
To support its employees, every individual has access to the “We Care” programme; 24-hour access to a private GP for employees and their close family and household; second medical opinions; smoking cessation support; mental health support with up to 10 bespoke counselling appointments; life events counselling; and burnout prevention. We Care also provides healthy living programmes and diet support, and all managers have received training on how to recognise and manage mental ill health.
The organisation also recognised that the cost-of-living crisis had affected some of its employees. As such, Barbon Insurance Group Ltd prioritised lower earning employees when awarding pay rises, with all entry level roles having salaries above the living wage. The CEO further authorised a £50 voucher for every employee to spend on whatever was best for them and their family.
Furthermore, the organisation keep a store cupboard fully stocked with non-perishable food so that colleagues can discreetly take any food home that they need.
The leadership team also regularly communicates to employees that the organisation will support them with whatever they need in a confidential manner.
