Treetops Hospice Care provides nursing care and emotional support for anyone affected by death, dying or life limiting illness across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. All services are provided free of charge. The hospice has to raise more than £3 million every year to run, which works out as approximately £7,500 per day. 70% of this comes from charitable donations and fundraising events. The company started, as the Draycott Hospice Association, in 1986 following a three year campaign by founder Cally Cheetham. It became known as the Treetops Hospice Trust in 1993 and is currently run by Chief Executive George Cameron. The main practice within Treetops Hospice Care is a real ‘can do' approach to flexible working and work life balance. Staff can use the ‘time off in lieu' system to manage the peaks and troughs of both personal and work commitments.
