SUEZ Recycling and Recovery UK has been managing the waste of households and businesses in the UK since 1988. Today, it employs around 5,700 people at over 300 sites across the country. It has 25,000 commercial customers and 75 contracts with local authorities.
A pioneer of the circular economy, the firm has re-engineered its original waste management business. Today it generates electricity and heat, manufactures alternative fuels, processes reclaimed wood and produces compost – as well as securely managing a wide range of materials from recyclables to confidential and hazardous waste. In 2021 SUEZ diverted in excess of 6 million tonnes of waste from landfill.
SUEZ recycling and recovery UK is a forward-thinking employer, proud of the opportunities for personal growth and development offered to its people. As the company continues to develop and grow, its people play an important part in the essential work taking place to shape a sustainable environment.
It is a firm believer in collaboration, and, in the age of the knowledge-sharing economy and technological innovation, openness and collaboration are at the heart of its activities.
The safety and wellbeing of employees is of paramount importance and initiatives to improve health and safety performance and enhance people’s wellbeing, both physical and mental, continue to be given high priority.
Recent years have also seen an added focus on inclusion and diversity and enhancing the employee experience, recognising that people and businesses thrive when individuals feel that their wellness, creativity, and continuous learning are valued and supported.
