Searchability has a team of more than 50 people across the UK, Europe, and America. The recruitment company was founded by Blythe in 2012 to challenge the traditional approach to recruitment and champion social media as a tool to source and engage job candidates.
Searchability offers "feel sound hours" to staff, a policy that allocates 16 hours a year to each employee to use to help their wellbeing. The time can be taken in one-hour slots and does not require any notice.
No questions are asked, and staff can use the allowance however they see fit. Last year, the company also provided a programme of events, mostly virtual, based on a range of wellbeing topics, including puppy therapy, mindset matters, the power of positivity, sleep, and circadian rhythms, breathwork, financial wellbeing advice and boxercise.
Staff have used it to leave early, take a few extra hours in bed if they are feeling low or exhausted, or attend a gym class or relaxation session.
The atmosphere in Searchability’s HQ is always buzzing, and there is a strong social culture which every employee is welcomed into.
All staff have access to the office games suite and bar and are also regularly rewarded through their unique #FirstFriday celebrations, charity days, award ceremonies, and much more.
Additionally, it installed a health station that measured key health statistics, all employees who participated (80%) gained access to personalised health insights and the ability to track health over time.
I am paid fairly for the work that I do relative to others within this organisation
With a recognition-led culture, as well as benefits and salary, Searchability has a range of incentives to reward its employees for their efforts. This ranges from commission, achievers meals, weekend trips away, legend of the month awards, and its most recent Be Sound award – these are all led by colleagues.
People in my team go out of their way to help me
As part of its wellbeing programme, Searchability has a weekly boxercise class which has encouraged new connections between colleagues. It has continued to host First Friday events which brings the whole company together for social interaction. It also recently held a charity day that included fancy dress and a bake sale.
This organisation has a strong social conscience
Searchability has recently installed eco-friendly lighting systems in its offices and continues to support recycling initiatives. Additionally, it has removed plastic cups from its offices and continuously supports plastic waste reduction, giving all employees access to glass or refillable bottles to prevent single-use plastic.
