Spying an underused market in the telecoms industry founders Dan Craddock and Keith Curran established plan.com in 2014 with an ambitious vision: to use digital technology to transform the business mobile market. Fast forward to 2021 and Isle of Man-based plan.com has become one of Europe's fastest-growing technology and telecommunications companies.
The plan.com team has developed my.plan – a connectivity platform that combines cutting-edge data analytics technology with an easy-to-use interface, giving customers more features, data and insights than any national telecoms networks – all of which can be entirely customised to their needs. Whether businesses have one employee or 10,000 the my.plan platform takes their workforce's mobile connectivity to another level.
But there's no standing still for plan.com, which has continued innovation and growth in its sights and where exceptionally talented employees are valued. plan.com was able to operate at full capacity throughout the pandemic; each employee was provided with a home office set-up of laptop, two screens, a dock, keyboard, mouse, headset, office chair – and even a desk if they needed one.
Chief executive Dan Craddock made Monday morning company addresses over Zoom, all teams had video meetings at the beginning and end of each day and in-house training was successfully delivered online – including for new recruits. Staff could return to the office in June 2020 on the Isle of Man (until a circuit breaker in January 2021) and plan.com offered a phased return, a big welcome breakfast and employee engagement events both online and in person.

While most large-scale activities happened on Zoom last year, staff at plan.com were able to go ahead with their Santa's on a Bike fundraising event in December – because the Isle of Man was Covid-free. Every employee takes part in the annual charity ride, and in 2020 they raised £31,000 for the Isle of Man hospice.
