Phoenix Futures are dedicated to helping individuals, families and communities recover from drug and alcohol problems. Working across 30 sites, the organisation is founded on a passion for showing that recovery from drugs and alcohol is possible. Since its launch in the 1960s, Phoenix have taken part in a wide range of community initiatives to meet their own charitable purpose. The organisation looks to go above and beyond to support the family members of its service users, and works in partnership with other charities to reduce stigma around addiction and homelessness. Employees are equipped with the skills required to carry out these services, and Chief Executive Karen Biggs takes the leading role in ensuring all employees can do their job to the best of their ability. Karen, who took up the role in 2007, is a leader in the sector, and is frequently engaged by government bodies to consult on policy issues.
