Oodle Car Finance turned the ignition key five years ago in Oxford and now has more than 300 employees and satellite offices in Cardiff, London and Manchester. The idea behind the business was to streamline the process of finding a car and paying for it, offering its customers a personalised service and support while taking advantage of technological change.

During the first lockdown last year, staff working from home were provided with the equipment they needed, such as computer screens, desks and chairs. When offices were open, capacity was reduced, desks were bookable by the week and staff had their temperature taken, while social distance messaging was featured on wall signs and floors.

Line managers and team leaders were offered training on managing remote teams and across the business there was a learning package that featured LinkedIn courses, TED Talks and documentaries.
