Octopus Energy is an organisation "where you don't hang your personality up alongside your coat when you arrive at the office, but where you can be your real self", according to Greg Jackson, its chief executive.

Launched in 2016, the company has 3.1 million customers and more than 1,800 shareholders/employees. Since April 2019, its customers have generated enough energy to power 2,600 homes a year. Between 2018 and 2020, it has offset energy from its Supergreen customers which is equivalent to cancelling 330,000 flights from London to New York. A third of Britain's public electric vehicle charging networks are powered by its Electric Juice
For four consecutive years, Octopus has been the only UK energy supplier recommended by Which magazine. Staff recommend it, too, and employee reviews on Glassdoor have earned the company a five-star rating for its culture and benefits. "What we've done is great a space that's good for our people" says Jackson.
