Octopus Energy is an organisation "where you don't hang your personality up alongside your coat when you arrive at the office, but where you can be your real self", according to Greg Jackson, its chief executive.

The company's aim is to make energy better and drive a greener, fairer energy revolution. It says this goal comes hand in hand with treating people better and being radically transparent, whether that’s with customers or staff.

Octopus Energy is a disruptor on a mission to use technology to make green energy the cheapest power, changing the entire industry and accelerating the UK towards net zero. It says there is no other provider in Britain doing as much to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.

Launched in 2016, the company has 3.1 million customers and more than 1,800 shareholders/employees. Since April 2019, its customers have generated enough energy to power 2,600 homes a year. Between 2018 and 2020, it has offset energy from its Supergreen customers which is equivalent to cancelling 330,000 flights from London to New York. A third of Britain's public electric vehicle charging networks are powered by its Electric Juice

For four consecutive years, Octopus has been the only UK energy supplier recommended by Which magazine. Staff recommend it, too, and employee reviews on Glassdoor have earned the company a five-star rating for its culture and benefits. "What we've done is great a space that's good for our people" says Jackson.
