Missing People is a dynamic and caring organisation which really makes a difference to vulnerable people throughout the UK. Their staff and volunteers are motivated and energetic. The charity was founded in the years following the disappearance of Suzi Lamplugh by sisters Mary Asprey and Janet Newman as the National Missing Persons Helpline. The charity later changed its name to Missing People. Missing People provides free, confidential support around the clock to anyone who is missing, worried about a missing person or thinking about leaving home. Employees can nominate each other for a certificate of achievement and these certificates are given out at each quarterly all staff and volunteer meetings. The achievements are linked to Missing People's strong values and are there to recognise, celebrate, and reward employees who go the extra mile. They have a choir which is composed of the families of missing people, charity staff and volunteers, as well as people from organisations they work with. The choir provides an opportunity for families to come together and support each other. It also plays an important role in raising awareness of the search for choir members missing loved ones.
