Majestic Wine Warehouses are the UK's largest specialist wine retailer, with 212 branches in the UK and France. Their 1,000 highly-trained specialist store members help people find wines they will love. Majestic Vintners were founded by Sheldon Graner in 1980, he'd been a merchandiser with John Lewis Group. He called the business Majestic after his other passion, collecting early postage stamps. Today, the Watford company has more than 200 stores around the UK, plus two in Northern France. In 2015, the firm acquired Naked Wines for around £70 million, and appointed Naked's founder Rowan Gormley as Chief Executive Officer. By mid-2016, Majestic Wine announced a double-digit sales boost since the purchase of Naked. Majestic Wine Warehouses know their stuff. Every staff member has been professionally accredited by the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET). So customers get informed answers to their wine questions and some great recommendations.
