M&Co is a mid-market fashion and home retailer with over 270 stores, mainly in market towns throughout the UK. The brand also have 15 overseas franchise stores. Ever since the first Mackays store opened 50 years ago, the company have committed to running M&Co as a family business and believes their rapid expansion shows that this model works. The current chain has grown organically from a small family business of just six stores and now amounts to almost 300. Between 2005 and 2007, the store portfolio was expanded and upgraded, and Mackays successfully rebranded to the more contemporary M&Co fascia. M&Co currently employs staff, who are based instore, at their Inchinnan Head Office (beside Glasgow Airport), or in the London Buying Office. Testament to their focus on staff wellbeing, almost a quarter of staff have been with the brand for more than a decade, with some outstanding individuals having worked in the company for more than 30 years.
