A reward and recognition culture at iQ Student Accommodation means that if you’re ‘fantastiQ’ then you’ll get the acknowledgement that you deserve.
That’s thanks to several different schemes at the student accommodation provider, including a platform for colleague recognition that allows the sending and sharing of e-cards for a job well done, coupled with the ‘FantastiQ Awards’ and ‘WOW Awards’ – both of which allow team members to nominate others for prizes including monetary gifts and additional leave for going above and beyond and living the company’s values.
These values, which were launched in 2017, have been consistently embedded in the company ever since. Incorporating ‘Be the Team’, ‘Be the Leader’, ‘Be the Learner’, ‘Be the Business’, ‘Be the Future’, ‘Be the Customer’, and ‘Be the Best’, the values are something that all employees strive to work towards.
The company, which owns and manages accommodation for students across the UK – ranging from London to Glasgow – is committed to creating an environment that’s inclusive and diverse, with a dedicated approach known as ‘UniQue’ focusing on enabling its people to bring their whole selves to work.

A ‘Think Green’ campaign put a focus on the environment thanks to its aim of improving the energy efficiency of buildings through engagement programmes for both employees and student residents. The campaign included both e-learning and building technical programmes, as well as encouraging better recycling and simple tips for energy conservation.

Leaders consistently refer to iQ’s values through communication, live events, or business updates and play a key part in recognising when the values are being demonstrated. Recently, the Senior Management Team sponsored and supported the development and rollout of a behavioural framework aligned to the values, which is now being adopted across the business.

As well as an extensive catalogue of learning provided via our LMS, every team member has access to an unlimited number of funded Level 1, 2 and 3 qualifications in a range of subjects such as Mental Health, Customer Service and Fitness and Health. There are also talent programmes, apprenticeship schemes and a high-performance coaching programme.
