Construction consultant Hydrock wants to make a positive contribution to shaping a global and sustainable future community, but in its workplace it creates an environment where people can thrive.
The Bristol-based company operates a hybrid working pattern for its staff, with a desk-booking app for those coming into the office. Teams are encouraged to come together at least once a week for collaborative in-person working.
It encourages the pursuit of wellbeing and fitness activities by providing an annual healthy-living bonus to help cover personal expenses for recreational health and mindfulness. It also offers a range of wellbeing benefits. Each office has a wellbeing champion who encourages team activities and all staff join an annual challenge day at Hydrock's headquarters.
The company also works to create a fun workplace atmosphere in which its people respect each other and step up when challenges arise.
As part of its efforts to give back to the community, every team takes a day to support a local charity. Meanwhile, its Sustainability Working Group aims to reduce the business's carbon footprint by improving practices within the workplace.
Hydrock has built its consistent growth on solid foundations of expertise and innovation. Founded in 1995, it specialises in the engineering design, energy efficiency and sustainability of buildings and infrastructure. The company has expanded over 25 years through organic growth and acquisitions and employs more than 800 staff across the UK.
