Go Ape began as an inspiring adventure, sparked by founders Becs and Tris Mayhew while travelling through France. Their vision of bringing tree-top adventures to life has expanded into a thriving company with 35 UK and 15 USA locations, engaging over 10 million customers. Central to Go Ape's ethos is the commitment to living life adventurously, a principle that guides both the business strategy and employee engagement initiatives.

In 2021, Go Ape became an Employee Ownership Trust, making every employee, from full-time staff to seasonal workers, a co-owner. This transformative step underscores the organisation’s dedication to fostering a collaborative and inclusive workplace. The launch of the Wellbeing Team in 2024 further exemplifies this commitment, providing co-owners with support and resources to maintain mental and emotional health.

Go Ape's values are deeply embedded in its operations. The DRT Days initiative empowers employees to volunteer in their communities, reinforcing a culture of doing the right thing. The Founders' Awards celebrate individuals who embody these values, while the Tribe Hub intranet platform keeps co-owners connected and informed.

Annual gatherings and subsidised adventure trips, such as the "Naturally Powered Days" and international expeditions, are designed to strengthen team bonds. Additionally, Go Ape's CPD programme equips managers with essential skills and knowledge, ensuring they remain agile and effective in their roles.

The Go Ape Foundation, launched in 2024, exemplifies its dedication to accessibility, providing transformative experiences to underprivileged youth. Through these initiatives, Go Ape not only champions adventure but also creates a dynamic and supportive environment for all co-owners.
