Gloucester City Homes is an independent Housing Association providing valued housing services to thousands of customers across Gloucester and surrounding areas. Originating as an Arm’s Length Management Organisation in 2005, Gloucester City Homes has grown to manage around 5,000 homes, supporting approximately 12,500 customers. The organisation is deeply invested in improving homes and creating communities where people can thrive.
In 2015, Gloucester City Homes transitioned to an independent Housing Association following an impressive 89% tenant support. This transition further cemented the organisation's commitment to delivering high-quality housing services.
Gloucester City Homes places significant importance on employee engagement and wellbeing. It is currently working towards the ‘Healthy Workplaces Gloucestershire Award’, demonstrating its dedication to supporting employees’ health and wellbeing. This commitment is further highlighted through its numerous initiatives such as Mental Health First Aiders, Stress Awareness month activities, and the signing of the ‘Wellbeing of Women Menopause Workplace Pledge’.
The organisation’s holistic approach to wellbeing includes a comprehensive Health and Wellbeing Programme. This encompasses a confidential Employee Assistance Programme, a Health Cashback Plan, and the FinanciallyWell Loan Scheme. Employees also have the flexibility to buy and sell holiday time, enjoy volunteering days, and access a Benefits Portal for exclusive deals.
Gloucester City Homes strongly believes in employee development. Its comprehensive induction programme and tailored training offerings, including higher level apprenticeships, degrees, and Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) qualifications, ensure every colleague is empowered to reach their full potential.
