Ghyston is an award-winning software house based in Bristol, who use cutting edge technology to deliver exceptional bespoke solutions for ambitious companies. Its name was inspired by the legendary giant who achieved the perfect work-rest balance in order to create the Avon Gorge. This philosophy of balance and wellbeing is deeply ingrained in the culture at Ghyston, who believe a happy team produce the best work.
Co-founders Emily and Ric Hill have established a company culture that prioritises collaboration and fosters strong relationships among team members. Their approach includes allocating a significant portion of the budget towards morale-boosting initiatives, such as fun activities that go beyond work-related duties. They also offer free life coaching for all employees and generous benefits such as a 9% non-contributory pension.
There is an emphasis on equity, diversity, and inclusion across the whole business and this fosters a supportive working environment where everyone feels valued and able to contribute their unique talents.
In addition to looking after their employees, Ghyston believes in giving back to the community and has established the Ghyston Foundation to support charitable causes. They commit 10% of annual profits to this foundation, enabling employees to support local charities with fundraising, pro-bono software development and outreach initiatives.
By working for Ghyston, employees can be assured that they will not only receive a host of opportunities to progress and grow, but they will also be contributing to meaningful and positive impact in the wider society.
