Cult British hair tool brand ghd gave its employees a welcome lift during lockdown with regular wellbeing gifts and a £500 Covid payment to spend on whatever they wished from increased utility bills to office equipment or something make them feel good. It also introduced a wellbeing strategy and encouraged staff to get involved in team events, including a UK quiz.
The innovative company has been transforming lives with the power of a Good Hair Day for the past 20 years and its styling products are now used by 250,000 hairdressers around the world and sold in more than 30 countries.
The brand was launched in 2001 by three men from Yorkshire with the original ghd styler. The endorsement of a nationwide army of stylists showed how every day had the potential to be a good hair day for millions of women.
Merging science and innovation, with luxury beauty and style, London-based ghd, which also has offices in Cambridge and Leeds, has won more than 300 beauty awards for its ground-breaking tools which include hairdryers, hot brushes hair straighteners and curling wands.
