East Coast College is a well-established further education college in Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft offering a breadth of subjects and technical and professional training to degree level.
Recognised as an Ofsted 'Good' college, students can study a huge range of vocational courses, T Levels and apprenticeships, as well as A Levels and BTECs, at the purpose-built Lowestoft Sixth Form College.
With specialist maritime, energy and offshore training centres, combined with commercial training and a partnership with University of Suffolk, the college has become a centre of excellence for energy, engineering and offshore skills training.
Every year hundreds of students from East Coast College go on to university or an apprenticeship into work and build very successful careers. The college prides itself on being an integral part of students’ individual journeys; offering quality teaching and learning, and excellent student success and wellbeing.
As a workplace, the college recognises that its staff are its most valued resource and as a result their health and wellbeing is crucial. The college promotes good workplace health and enables, wherever possible, good workplace wellbeing. It encourages the development of a work environment that sees all staff taking a positive interest in the health and wellbeing of themselves and their colleagues.
The staff Wellbeing Strategy provides a framework with which the College can encourage and facilitate working practices that support employee health and wellbeing, minimise the detrimental impact of work-related stress on staff and their work, and ensure that staff are appropriately supported in their workplace.

Its Emerging Leaders programme, led by the CEO, usually has a cohort of around 15 staff members who aspire to become leaders. The programme focusses on self-awareness and development alongside core competencies in areas such as people management, including employment law.
My manager cares about how satisfied I am in my job
All managers have the opportunity to participate in the management degree apprenticeship run by the college in conjunction with University of Suffolk. The college also runs Mental Health First Aid training each term for all staff and Emotional Awareness training for managers, teaching wellbeing intervention support.
