Claire House Children’s Hospice helps seriously and terminally ill children make the most of the time they have. By providing specialist nursing and end of life care, as well as emotional support, the organisation helps families through some of the toughest times of their lives.

The organisation has two sites, a full hospice in the Wirral and a second site offering services including day care, complementary therapies and counselling, in Liverpool. Claire House works across Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales.

The hospice was named after Claire Cain, a special little girl who died of a brain tumour in 1989. Her family dreamed of opening a hospice that could offer other families the support that they had not had. When the organisation opened its doors in 1998, it was looking after 10 families, now it looks after over 400.

Incredible people are at the centre of everything it does. It is its people who make the greatest difference, in life and in death, to the families that Claire House exists to support. Attracting, valuing, retaining, and developing them, is how the organisation ensures it has an incredible workforce, now and for the future.

Within its current strategy, its priority is to grow an incredible workforce and be an employer of choice.
