Giving something back to the community has always been a big part of City West Country, with employees encouraged to propose fund-raising initiatives through their site representatives, and the company willing to match the funds raised up to a value of £500.

This year, having recognised the challenges charities were facing, the organisation gave each of its UK sites a budget of £10,000 and invited employees to recommend local charities close to their heart to benefit from a proportion of the funds. In total the organisation donated £50,000 to charities across the South-West of England.

In a bid to become more self-sufficient with energy consumption, the business has not only installed solar panels at three of its four retailer sites but is currently undertaking a significant upgrade to its electric power supply and programme of electric charging points – allowing it to diversify its vehicle sales into hybrid and electric models and use the energy harvested by the solar systems to power its sites.

Since being selected as one of Mercedes-Benz’s key business partners, the company has enjoyed fantastic success and recorded some significant business achievements, such as its multi-million-pound investment programme to create four state-of-the-art automotive retailing outlets and being named as the ‘Smart Retailer of the Year’ four times.

However, the organisation is determined that family values will remain at the heart of Mercedes-Benz South West for many years to come.
