In 1995 Andy Bell and Nicholas Littlefair set up AJ Bell with just £10,000 in personal loans in a tiny office in Manchester. Their entrepreneurial spirit, ambition, and vision fuelled the company’s growth, today AJ Bell is one of the largest investment platforms in the UK, with more than 1,300 employees.
The organisation’s head office at Salford Quays is designed with supporting its employees’ wellbeing. It has its own on-site gym offering a full programme of fitness classes, as well as private health checks and nutritional workshops.

The HR Team also run Mental Health in the Workplace sessions for Managers, which are compulsory for them to attend.

In February, the organisation launched its new charitable initiative – the AJ Bell Futures Foundation – initially committing to contribute 0.5% of its profits before tax to the Foundation each year – to establish deep-rooted, long-term partnerships whilst building futures in its communities. To date, it has donated £100,000 to each of its charity partners.
