UK Coaching collaborates with organisations and pool their resources to make lasting improvements to coaching in the UK - from grass-roots through to elite levels. The charity informs the Government on policy that supports coaches to have a positive impact on society and develops learning that helps coaches.
The whole company gathers virtually for a #WeConnect Monthly Update, where workplace news and organisational updates are shared. It is an effective way for everyone to connect, communicate and collaborate in an informal way, and breaks down silos as staff get the opportunity to catch up with the latest developments across all departments, whilst interacting in real time through the chat facility.
Team Time Out days are a more recent initiative. The two-day events bring together the entire company to update staff on key developments and involve everyone in future projects. UK Coaching’s last Team Time Out had the theme of A Festival of Learning. The organisation decked out a vacant floor of our office building with music festival props (unicorns, a carousel horse, seven light-up palm trees and giant wellies to name just a few) and staff came dressed in festival-themed clothing, making their way around the festival site to different areas that were dedicated to learning about different topics. Performing on the main stage were special guest speakers and workshop hosts and the two days of energising interaction also included a business update by the CEO on the organisation’s aspirations.
UK Coaching’s new check-in process (regular informal performance management reviews) allows leaders to discuss the organisation’s values with their staff and how they are being brought to life in their everyday work.
