Torchbox says it loves to get its staff together "to celebrate our amazing company that we all contribute to". Highlights of its team-building events are the bi-annual ski trips and the company's annual family event, Torchfest.

The company was born from a desire to bring the benefits of web technology to people and organisations who make the world a better place. Now 20 years on, more than 90% of its clients are national and international non-profit organisations.

Torchbox's clients include the World Food Programme, the NHS, Nasa, Oxfam and Médecins Sans Frontières. Its team of 90 permanent staff spans four offices, including in Bristol and Oxfordshire, and five continents. It specialises in digital product design and development and delivering award-winning digital marketing campaigns.

Torchbox is the creator of Wagtail, the open-source content management system used by the UK government, Google, Mozilla and thousands more organisations around the world. In America, Torchbox works with Nasa Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the Mozilla Foundation and the University of Pennsylvania, among others.

The company has been owned by its employees since 2019, but remains true to the values of its founders: using digital for good and providing progressive non-profit organisations with the digital know-how to transform their organisations.

Its employee voice group focuses on civic engagement and, over the past 12 months, has encouraged initiatives such as building sleep pods for the homeless community in Bristol, taking part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in aid of a Bristol charity and donating to food banks.
