The Ongo journey began in 2007, following a stock transfer of 10,000 homes from North Lincolnshire Council. Back then, the organisation was known as North Lincolnshire Homes and it was in 2013 that it rebranded to become Ongo.
Providing safe and secure homes was and always will be at the heart of what Ongo does. However, since setting up the Ongo group, it has been able to offer more services to help tenants and local people to thrive. It meant Ongo could build more affordable housing, support homeless people, and offer employment and training support.
More recently the organisation has added mental health support to its services on offer, plus supporting the local authority to deliver a large scale recruitment campaign for the care sector.
Ongo believes in continually evolving and improving; which means there are many opportunities for colleagues to develop, including apprenticeships, training specifically for aspiring managers, offering colleagues the chance to learn and gain a qualification, plus other training such as mental health first aid, equality and diversity, and first aid training.
There is a strong culture too, meaning all colleagues are one team, working towards a common goal, which is achieved through collaborative working, job shadowing and its Leadership team proactively sharing information and keeping colleagues informed.
