Break Charity provide a range of services supporting children, young people and families in East Anglia. Services are paid for through statutory and charitable funding, as well as fundraising through 50 shops and initiatives. Their vision is to ensure children, young people and families reach their full potential and shape their own futures in a safe and creative environment. The charity was started in 1968 by Geoffrey and Judith Davison and their friend Leslie Morley to provide holidays for children and young people with disabilities, which would give their parents a break too. Today, Break Charity works in four key areas: young people in care and moving on; children and young people with disabilities; families in need of support; and children at risk. They work in partnership with Norfolk County Council and Cambridgeshire County Council, running seven family-sized children's homes. There are 347 permanent staff, 98 relief staff and 915 volunteers.
