Executive recruiter, Charlton Morris, introduced a four-day week for staff this year. It does not mean compressed hours, but 100% of the work, for 100% of the salary in 80% of the time. The move has benefited the company by attracting more staff and helping to retain its workforce. It says it has helped it showcase its commitment to being people-first and prioritising a healthy work-life balance.
The Leeds-based company, which specialises in the medical, life sciences and industrial markets, says it wants to change the way the world sees recruitment by giving its staff and customers the best possible experience. It holds an Investors in People Gold award.
Charlton Morris puts its good record for retaining staff down to placing "a huge emphasis on employee wellbeing, a drive to improve diversity and inclusion that gives employees a voice, and company-wide support for giving something back".
It also offers a "progressive" benefits package, which includes private healthcare with Vitality, Uplift Mental Health support, uncapped, threshold-free commissions and in-office massages. The company also provides in-house training and has a supportive team. It moved to new offices in Leeds city centre two years ago, but hires remotely in other areas, including London and Manchester.
Charlton Morris prides itself on leading the way in recruitment with industry-leading content – its staff act as thought-leaders and not just recruiters — and use sophisticated technology.
